Donald Trump’s Short-lived, Bogus Election Integrity Commission
What did they find? Nothing, but it helped fuel the mess we’re in 5 years later
Only four months into his presidency, Donald Trump created the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity with the sole purpose of bolstering his widely deranged claims that he won the popular vote in 2016 “if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.”
After 8 months of investigating nonexistent voter fraud, the commission was dissolved. In other words, it was a complete waste of government resources, but there wasn’t a single chirp from any “small government” Republican politicians who incessantly accuse Democrats of frivolous federal spending.
